Founded in Raleigh, North Carolina, in 1994, Whiskeytown made their indie debut with Faithless Street, an album that quickly caught the attention of Outpost Recordings, a Geffen Records label, which signed the band soon after.
Featuring Caitlin Cary on fiddle and vocals, Phil Wandscher on guitar, Steve Grothmann on bass, Eric “Skillet” Gilmore on drums, and Ryan Adams on vocals and guitar, Whiskeytown helped define the “No Depression” alt-country movement. Faithless Street showcased the band’s volatile spirit and Adams’ sharp, emotionally charged songwriting, establishing Whiskeytown as one of the era’s essential alt-country acts.
This first-ever vinyl pressing features 21 songs, including five “Baseball Park Sessions” recordings that comprise Side D of the album.
